Mr Panda and his Magical Bamboo
In Lorraine's debut storybook, Mr Panda's stage adventures are leaping into the pages - coming soon for children aged 5-9. Mr Panda is a cheeky and loveable panda bear, who uses his magical bamboo and storybook to travel the world saving children and animals all across the globe.
On this adventure our heroes are trying to stop a mean green witch who is stealing smiles from the faces of sleeping children. On their mission to stop her they travel all over, from the stars and the moon in the sky to a magical kingdom at the bottom of the ocean, meeting fun and vibrant friends along the way.
Mr Panda and his Magical Bamboo will be available via in-person events and online retailers.

Spreading Joy to Kids who Need it Most
Author Lorraine Brooker and Mr Panda are delighted to offer a limited number of complimentary visits each year to registered charities supporting disadvantaged, vulnerable, or seriously ill children.
Providing children with magical literary experiences is a cause that is very close to Lorraine’s heart. Through storytelling, imagination, and the joy of meeting Mr Panda, we hope to bring smiles, comfort, and a little sparkle to children who may be facing challenging circumstances or who have limited access to books and literary opportunities.
Our special Panda visits will include:
- An interactive storytime session
- Fun facts about pandas and their natural habitat
- Opportunities for questions and discussion
- Photographs and memorable moments for the children
- Specially created Mr Panda music - see events to have a listen!
We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to experience the magic of stories and the power of imagination. We are currently looking for organisations to sponsor or partner with Lorraine and Mr Panda to make that dream a reality.

Meet the Author:
Since 1988, Lorraine has been sprinkling magic, music, and laughter into the lives of children across the UK. She currently lives in Buckinghamshire with her four cats Domino, Stanley, Bella, and Pandora. She also often travels internationally for charitable endeavours.
What started as a tiny glove puppet to help with quick scene changes in her touring theatre shows quickly stole the hearts of audiences, transforming into the spectacular, eight-foot-tall Mr Panda. Together, this dynamic duo has performed for thousands of children (including royalty!), toured major theaters, and featured in national newspapers. Lorraine has played the role of Rainbow Bigbottom since 1988.
Now, Mr Panda’s stage adventures are leaping into the pages of a her brand-new, debut children's book! Lorraine is excited to travel the world, meeting and reading to children of all ages. Ahead of their highly anticipated 2027-28 theatre return with Mr Panda and His Magical Bamboo, Lorraine and Mr Panda are available for magical school author visits, book signings, and international children's charity events.
